Ex-Military Talent in the Workplace

Locate Isle of Man, in collaboration with the UK Ministry of Defence, invites local organisations, business leaders, and recruitment managers to an event designed to highlight the skills, experience, and value that ex-military personnel bring to the Isle of Man’s workforce.

The event will highlight the wide range of transferable skills and qualifications veterans offer, and how they can help address skills shortages across all sectors, from entry-level positions to senior roles.

The event will begin with light refreshments, tea, and coffee, providing an opportunity for informal networking among attendees.

Local organisations will gain insight into the broad range of transferable skills and qualifications ex-military personnel bring to the civilian workforce, from entry-level roles to senior positions, across a variety of sectors. This will be brought to life through a series of informative sessions and real-life success stories from individuals who have transitioned from military service into civilian careers on the Isle of Man.

Speakers will also explore how organisations can engage with the Armed Forces Covenant, including practical steps to sign up and the benefits of becoming a signatory. In addition, the event will highlight employability support available to employers, such as access to the MOD’s career board and upcoming career events designed to connect businesses with ex-service talent.
