Aim: This event is specifically intended to support the professional development of secondary school Computing teachers, but other interested individuals are very welcome to attend.

What to expect: Two morning lessons to choose from with a CPD session sandwiched in the middle, the first lesson of the morning will be a one hour taught lesson with a Year 10 GCSE Computer Science class, then a 2.5 curriculum planning session followed by a 1 hour Year 9 Computing lesson. The curriculum planning session focuses on sharing great strategies and resources for teaching Computing.

If you wish to attend only one of the Computing lessons, please inform us when booking.

8.30am: Arrival and registration

9am - 10am: GCSE Computer Science lesson: (Optional)

• An opportunity to watch a 1 hour, Year 10 GCSE Computer Science lesson. Observe a range of teaching strategies used to teach Computing to a class of students. If you don't wish to observe this lesson just inform us after booking.

10am - 1.30pm: Curriculum planning session:

- Resource Roundup:

• Bring a resource along with you to show or share with others to get conversation started. It doesn't need to be anything particularly amazing or super-special it could be a teaching resource you have created or bought, or some student work.

- Curriculum planning: The best way to teach Computing

• A practical CPD session led by CAS Master Teacher, Alan O'Donohoe of exa.foundation highlighting some proven strategies for planning and delivering a compelling Computing curriculum in a secondary school setting.

12.35pm - 1.30pm: Year 9 Computing lesson: (Optional)

• An opportunity to watch a 1 hour, Year 9 Computing lesson. Observe a range of teaching strategies used to teach Computing to a class of students. If you don't wish to observe this lesson just inform us after booking.
