Description

#exalens: Teach Computing online webinars support teachers to develop the teaching of Computing within their schools.

This webinar episode is intended for secondary Computing teachers (11-16 years), if you teach primary aged students aged 5-11 years you should register for our online webinars aimed specifically at primary teachers (5-11). These webinars are hosted by Alan O'Donohoe, Exa.Foundation part of Exa Networks.

If you know you can definitely take part in the live session, you only need register for the 'live webinar' ticket, these places are limited. If you only intend to watch the recording afterwards, not the live session, then register for the 'catch-up' ticket. With both tickets, you'll receive links to all content afterwards.

#exalens: Teach Computing webinars will:

  • include strategies to plan & teach Computing lessons at Key Stage 3 & GCSE
  • focus on the practical pedagogy of teaching Computing
  • include free resources for you to use in your own teaching
  • help you to gain confidence about teaching Key Stage 3 & GCSE Computer Science

Programme for 21May18: The programme is developed in response to issues raised by Computing teachers and is subject to change. This webinar episode will focus on the following three topics, each topic lasting 15-20 minutes:

  1. Exercise books - how and why you should still be using exercise books with your Computing classes
  2. Raising your profile - strategies to boost the growth & success of the subject in your school
  3. Non-specialists - how to ensure that non-specialists in your subject area can confidently deliver Computing lessons

Email confirmation and registration: After registering it is important that you check your inbox for a confirmation email from Eventbrite. This same method will be used to send you participation details before the live webinar as well as links to the recording, content and other resources after the webinar. If you do not receive these details, it's likely that you have either provided an incorrect email address or the confirmation email has been treated as spam.
