Description

Handwriting and achieving the STA's Expected Outcomes for KS1 and KS2 Handwriting. SHARING BEST PRACTICE. How we use the evidence of raising attainment to show Working At Greater Depth and Exceeding Expectations at Down Hall Primary School.

How to improve handwriting to boost your Ofsted rating!

How to Improve the Assessment and Moderation of Handwriting for Planning and delivery of your School Wide Handwriting Strategy.

How do you know if your pupils are meeting the Standards & Testing Agency’s Expected Outcomes for Handwriting for KS1 and KS2?

Are all your pupils Working At Great Depth in Handwriting KS1 and KS2?

Do you have a Handwriting Intervention in place for those pupils still Working Towards the Expected Standards for Handwriting KS1/KS2?

What does “good” handwriting look like?

The Assessment and Moderation of Handwriting, using an Evidence Based Assessment Toolkit and the resulting Hard Data it delivers for Planning your Handwriting Strategy for each Pupil, Class, Year Group and even your School Wide Handwriting Strategy.

Mrs Lou Nelson, Headteacher and Ms Bec Wakefield, Literacy Lead and EYFS Co-Ordinator, will be:

Discussing how the school is meeting the Standards & Testing Agency’s handwriting requirements.

Showing how Start-Bee’s Handwriting Programmes for Schools works for EYFS and KS1.

Talking about how the school is using the the Start-Bee Handwriting Intervention Programme for pupils flagged up as requring an Intervention, using the Handwriting Match Fit Assessment.

Revealing the results the school has achieved with the Start-Bee Handwriting Programmes.

We will also present the resulting Hard Data from our Baseline Handwriting Match Fit Assessment, rolled out across KS1 before we started using the Start-Bee Handwriting Programmes and how every Literacy Team can deliver the HMFA painlessly to plan the Handwriting Strategy for each pupil and their School Wide Handwriting Strategy too.

The Standards & Testing Agency’s assessment in relation to handwriting requires, for the end of Key Stage 1, that every letter is formed using the correct starting and finishing point. However, this isn’t possible with many of the fonts being used in school today. With a lack of guidance coming from governmental departments, this event aims to fill in the gaps and share best practice to help schools overcome the problems affecting the teaching of handwriting in primary schools today.

Places are limited so you can reserve yours here for FREE. PLUS every attendee will get a Start-Bee Handwriting goodie bag AND money-off vouchers for the Entry Level Start-Bee Handwriting Kit for EYFS and KS1 and the Handwriting Match Fit AssessmentTM – a key tool for schools to help them assess pupils’ handwriting ability and needs.

We look forward to seeing you there.
