Excellence in Housing Design Study Tour to New Hall, Essex
Wednesday, 10 February 2016 from 08:30 to 13:00 (GMT)
Government pressure to meet housing demand has overshadowed the importance of designing homes that people want to live in. In an economic climate where building homes is in high demand, developers and local authorities are grappling with the question of value and whether design is simply a financial burden. Excellence in Housing Design is a study tour that will take a close look at schemes that have successfully challenged the norms. Innovations in public sector procurement, high quality design standards, and a commitment to building neighbourhoods not just housing, will offer solutions to creating value through design excellence.
Join us for a day of walks, informed speakers, and discussion on the ingredients for excellence in housing design. This study tour will bring together the local authority officers, councillors, house builders, housing associations and parishes.
We will meet at Ebbsfleet International where a coach will collect us and transport the group to New Hall, Essex.
This tour is a subsidised event for Kent Design members within their membership package allocation. Kent Design members can book places by emailing email@example.com.
