Event description
A new online course enabling non-clinical staff to better support clinicians in improving patient care in a changing healthcare environment.

About this Event

We would like to invite you to the launch of the first e-learning course of its kind, offering a comprehensive and accredited training programme for our non-clinical workforce. The launch will be held on the afternoon of 1st October in a central London venue; with interest expected to be high and capacity limited, do not delay in registering for your free places below.

The online course supports the unique Competency Framework aimed at developing the non-clinical workforce in a consistent and modern way. The four-tiered Framework was developed by Our Healthier south east London Sustainability and Transformation Partnership and supports increasing competency and career pathways for those working in health and care settings.

This exciting collaboration between the Practice Managers Association, Our Healthier south east London Sustainability and Transformation Partnership and itslearning UK provides a unique development opportunity for our non-clinical workforce; equipping them with the skills to better support their clinical colleagues and improve the patient and service user experience.

This Health Education England supported programme provides a generic overview of all administrative competencies required at level two of our Framework and includes signposting, care navigation skills and an introduction to social prescribing. Evidence from our pilots demonstrates the very real impact staff with these enhanced skills have been able to make - clinicians report significant time saved through less administrative workload and service users appreciate the support and care they receive. The staff being offered this opportunity also report feeling more confident, valued and motivated, moreover.

This event will be of interest to employers, managers and commissioners looking at ways to reduce clinical workload and those interested in workforce development. During this event you will hear how this programme was developed and tested and how it fits within a completely new approach of career planning for our non-clinical workforce. Learners and employers will also talk about their experience and the impact it has had.

Transferrable and accredited skills across sectors and increasing levels of competency and structured career development mark the beginning of a new era for this under-recognised workforce.

Considerable interest has already been shown and places are limited, so early booking is recommended. To register please click on the link above.
