Event description
This CPD session will allow the delegates to share experiences and discuss solutions

About this Event

It takes more than one year of training to become a highly effective science teacher. In our subject, in particular, there are the multiple demands of practical work, teaching sciences that are not our specialism, a complex suite of science qualifications and all of the usual pressures of time, behaviour, preparation and wider school responsibilities. This CPD session will allow the delegates to share experiences and discuss some solutions that will point them towards the more efficient and effective pathways along which to develop.

Who should attend? This course is aimed at Science NQTs, second-year RIS teachers, NQT+1, NQT+2, trainee teachers.

The tutor

Tim Mullis is subject specialist leader for science at the Inspiration Trust. He was born in north Devon and studied physics at University of Kent, prior to a Masters in communication systems engineering. He gained his PGCE at the University of Bath, before working in schools across Norfolk and Suffolk. He has worked extensively for the OCR examination board and as an examiner, chief examiner, and test writer for vocational science qualifications, and edited revision guides for Pearson.
