Description

What counts as 'well-being'? Searching behind and between the numbers to better understand social care outcomes

The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 places well-being and personal outcomes at the heart of social care, intending social care practitioners to focus on strengths and relationships-based practice. This shift, while broadly welcomed, has produced huge questions and challenges for a workforce adapting to a new vision of welfare provision. At this cross-cutting conference that integrates the expertise and experience held in adult, child and family services, we ask seasoned leaders in practice, expert academic researchers, and people experienced in engaging with social care services: what does 'well-being' really mean, how can we discover together what really matters to individuals, and by what means might we best understand the language and measurement of outcomes?

Speakers include:

Dr. Alisha Davies (Public Health Wales),
Dr. Rachel Dodge (Well-being Researcher - WJEC)
Professor. Donald Forrester (CASCADE, Cardiff University)
Dr. Emma Miller (University of Strathclyde)
Maria Selby and team (Cwrt Sart, Neath Port Talbot Council)
Cathryn Thomas (Social Services Improvement Agency)

Beth sy'n cael ei gyfrif fel 'Lles'? Ymchwilio'r niferoedd yn ddyfnach er mwyn deall canlyniadau gofal cymdeithasol yn well

Mae Deddf Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol a Llesiant (Cymru) 2014 yn rhoi lles a chanlyniadau personol wrth wraidd gofal cymdeithasol. Bwriad hyn yw cael ymarferwyr gofal cymdeithasol i ganolbwyntio ar ymarfer sy'n seiliedig ar gryfderau a pherthnasoedd. Er bod y mwyafrif yn croesawu'r newid hwn, mae wedi arwain at gwestiynau a heriau enfawr i weithlu sy'n gorfod addasu i weledigaeth newydd o ran y ddarpariaeth les. Yn y gynhadledd drawsbynciol hon a fydd yn cyfuno'r arbenigedd a'r profiad sydd mewn gwasanaethau oedolion, plant a theuluoedd, byddwn yn holi arweinwyr profiadol sy'n ymarfer, ymchwilwyr academaidd arbenigol a phobl sy'n gweithio ym maes y gwasanaethau gofal cymdeithasol: beth yw gwir ystyr 'lles', sut y gallwn weithio gyda'n gilydd i ddarganfod beth sy'n bwysig i bobl, a pha ddulliau y gallwn eu defnyddio i ddeall iaith a'r dull o fesur y canlyniadau?

Mae'r siaradwyr yn cynnwys:

Dr. Alisha Davies (Iechyd Cyhoeddus Cymru)
Dr. Rachel Dodge (Lles ymchwilydd - WJEC)
Yr Athro Donald Forrester (CASCADE, Prifysgol Caerdydd)
Dr. Emma Miller (Prifysgol Ystrad Clud)
Maria Selby a thîm (Cwrt Sart, Gyngor Castell-nedd Port Talbot)
Cathryn Thomas (Asiantaeth Gwella’r Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol)
