NAHT is running a series of half day briefings on Exclusions and Parental Complaints. The day will run as follows:

1330 - Registration and arrival refreshments

1345-1515 - Exclusions

The session will cover the concerns with which members typically approach HQ for advice and guidance. It will be an interactive process.

Delegates will return to school with a broader understanding of the exclusions process (including appeals) both in terms of the statutory position and good practice in carrying out the process. This will be underpinned by an understanding of the differences between the previous and new DfE guidance documents.

This session will be led by Juliet Starbuck.

1515-1530 - Break

1530-1700 - Dealing with Parental Complaints

This session offers practical advice and support in dealing with parental complaints/concerns. Content includes:

  • The importance of having a robust and clear procedure
  • Building confidence in dealing with challenging behaviours
  • Resolving matters effectively
  • Managing persistent/serial complainants

This session will be led by Dave Marshall, NAHT Regional Officer.

Is my booking transferrable?

Bookings may only be transferred at the discretion of the Professional Development team. These will need to be made in writing to events@naht.org.uk before the event. Transfers and cancellations may be subject to a charge.

Cancellation fees:

Within 20 working days - 25% charge

Within 10 working days - 50% charge

Within 5 working days - 75% charge

Within 2 working days - 100% charge

Can I update my registration information?

Any updates to your booking must be made in writing to the Professional Development team at events@naht.org.uk

Does the name on the booking need to match the attendee?

The names of each individual attendee must be entered during the booking process along with a unique email address for each attendee as this will be used for the final confirmation.
