Event description

Description

Are you a registered Friend of the Heart of England Forest? If so, you are invited to come along to an exclusive walk with Head Forester Stephen, around a usually unaccessible part of the Forest

We are inviting our Friends of the Forest to join us for the first guided walk at Shelfield, Spernal. The route will take in the first areas of woodland creation planted in the Heart of England Forest at Spernal back in 2006, the semi-ancient Stoopers Wood and views of the surrounding Forest.

A visit into Stoopers Wood, which features an unusually large amount of wild service trees, one of Stephen's favourites species, will display signs of spring including the first bluebells, while the high elevation of Badbury Hill will offer views of the growing Forest and beyond.

This 3 hour group led walk will be steep walking in places, and across unmanicured forest and farm land pathways so may not be suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times.

Tickets are limited so please book early. Each Friendship can register for upto 2 adults tickets and if you are looking to start a Friendship to join us then you can click here for more information.

By registering for this event you are agreeing to us contacting you by email or phone to advise you of any further event information, changes to the event or post-event feedback. The Heart of England Forest events terms can be found here.
