The recent ransom ware attack against, amongst others, the NHS, was a wake-up call to us all! It’s not just how you protect yourself, but how you respond in the event you are a victim of such an attack? So JOIN US to learn from professional experts, who will share vital and practical information in how to prepare and respond to a data loss/corruption.

Exercise ‘Digibug’ combines presentations and case studies together with a hands on exercise designed to provide helpful hints and tips - a positive learning experience in a relaxed atmosphere. Your opportunity to share your own knowledge and experiences and hear from others, visit our exhibition and build your network of likeminded professionals – you never know it may save you time, money and your reputation!

Objectives for the day

Speaker: Rowan Irwin, Head of Security, T-Systems Limited

Country Security Officer at T-Systems (UK) with responsibility for the delivery of a full array of security aspects, ranging from Governance, through Operations to Customer liaison. With 33 years’ service in the RAF, specialising in Police, Security and Intelligence duties and a further 11 years in industry, 7 of which at T-Systems. Membership of panels at the NCSC and CPNI have provided a good interactive platform for keeping abreast of current issues, challenges, opportunities in the security field based on collaborative and horizon scanning activities. I am particularly interested in human behaviours and how they relate to the ever evolving digital world in which we live, both today and in the future.

Speaker: Laura Meadows, xMatters

Laura is the VP, EMEA for xMatters specialising in communications during a crisis or incident - whether that be a typical BCM style scenario or related to IT infrastructure or platforms. Having worked in this space for 12 years she has built up a number of examples of communication do’s and don’t’s and works with clients across the world ensuring that best practices are followed to ensure all stakeholders are informed with relevant and timely information

Speaker: David Starsmeare, Mirus IT

David is the team leader for the Solutions Consultants department at Mirus IT and has spent nearly 20 years working in the industry gaining experience and becoming a specialist in many fields including virtualisation, networking and more recently a cloud solutions architect for Microsoft Azure.

The consultancy work typically involves selecting the most appropriate technology for any given problem, but allowing for other factors such as budgetary constraints and commercial requirements.

Keynote Speaker: Paul Roberton, PwC UK

Paul is the Director of Crisis and Continuity for PwC, UK and is the UK Territory Leader for the Global Crisis Centre. His team are responsible for a range of services within the Enterprise Resilience proposition including crisis response, crisis capability building, crisis readiness, major programme management, corporate resilience, emergency operations, command and control, business continuity and emergent risk.

Exercise DigiBug: Designed and facilitated by PwC

Crisis and BCM subject matter expert, positioned within PwC UK’s Crisis and Continuity Team working with a global remit. Significant experience, aptitude and confidence in crisis and BCM programme design testing, and real-world response. Hamish also holds aptitude in the complimentary disciplines of ITDR, ITSM and Physical Security.

Chair of industry not-for-profit initiative Business Risk and Resilience XGen which connects young resilience professionals by delivering industry events and conferences.
