San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
One of several satellite events around the country linking live to the London launch of the Adaptation Sub Committee's latest report to Parliament. Organised by Climate UK in association with the ASC. The Nottingham event is hosted by Climate South West.
Lord Krebs, Chair of the Committee on Climate Change's Adaptation Sub-Committee (ASC) would like to invite you to the launch of the ASC's latest report (9 July 2014). The report investigates the threats and opportunities for the country from climate change, focusing on the risks to infrastructure, business and public health. It will also update previous analysis on flooding, and consider the current capacity in the emergency response system to handle climate extremes.
Lord Krebs will present the findings of the analysis, and this will be followed by an opportunity for you to join a discussion on the implications to future policy and priorities for further adaptation.

Climate Just training and development programme
Climate UK, in partnership with the Environment Agency's Climate Ready support service, is organising a training and development programme on the Climate Just tool over winter 2015/16. This series of free webinars and group training events is aimed at public service providers. Climate Just enables users to identify who is most socially vulnerable to extreme weather and why that is, find their location and understand what kind of actions can be taken to make a difference.
The training comprises:
1hr introductory webinar - what can the tool do for me?
3hr introductory session - learn how to use the tool
3hr intermediate session - explore applying the tool in practice
The Climate Just website and map tool was developed by Climate UK on behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, in association with the University of Manchester and the Environment Agency and was launched in February 2015. 200 people participated in user testing and preview events prior to the launch and over 10,000 have visited since then.

NOTE, 1st December 2015
Quite a lot of people have booked on to the initial events and have then not turned up on the day. We understand that circumstances change and that you can't always make the date when it comes around, but please cancel your booking (or let us know) if this happens to you. This is out of courtesy to other delegates - we've had to turn some people away when events are fully booked, and to us - we plan these sessions to make them as relevant as possible to the participants.
We reserve the right to charge people who book on and who then don't show up without cancelling or notifying the organisers at least a day beforehand. A cancellation fee of £50 will be charged and sent in the form of an invoice to the person concerned.
These events are not free - they are being paid for by the Environment Agency's Climate Ready service so we can provide them at no cost to the participants.
