Exeter College Presents: Ukulele Workshop - Beginners, a one-day workshop for those who'd like to have fun playing the Ukulele for the first time.
Ukulele is an ideal beginner’s instrument, much easier than guitar, but with a unique bright sound and scope for great skill. Instruments provided on the two days.
This course, delivered by Exeter College, in Exeter, is aimed at complete beginners, but students with some experience will also benefit, as most of the music can be played at several skill levels.
Basic chords, strums and melodies will be introduced, using well known songs and tunes. Tablature (a much simpler way of reading music) will be explained and used.
Topics covered include:
- A guide to tuning etc.
- Chords, scales & tablature
- Rhythm, timing & strumming
What are the entry requirements?
None, beginners welcome. Students must have enthusiasm and determination.
What facilities are there?
Ukuleles provided during the sessions, as well as chord sheets, song sheets, tunes, scales and explanatory information sheets.
Lunch break 12:30-13:00.
