About this event

The Poetry of Compassion

Date: Monday 22nd November

Time: 10AM - 11AM

Venue: Streatham Campus, Peter Chalk, Room 2.5

Event Information

A creative writing workshop by Sally Flint, to explore how nature and people can and do interact in a compassionate world by experimenting with words and images .

The workshop will explore how nature and people can and do interact in a compassionate world by experimenting with words and images. Following on from COP26 it aims to link climate science and planetary and human health, and what it means to be part of a caring society. Everyone's welcome, from those who have never written a poem before, to published poets. The aim is to write a draft that can be honed into a polished poem. After the workshop a Poetry Cafe will be a place to drop-in and get further editing advice and, if wished, share the poems with participants at the Festival and beyond.

Biography

She is creative writing lead on Climate Stories and One Chance Left at COP26 and has designed and led many community workshops leading to publications. She is a tutor with the Poetry School and her research also investigates the changing relationships between text, image, and the power of words.
