Event description

Description

As part of ¡Viva! Spanish and Latin American Festival and in collaboration with Durham University, the Instituto Cervantes Manchester will host part of the ‘Bigas Luna Tribute’, a series of international events that disseminate the important work of late Spanish filmmaker and artist Bigas Luna.

Prof Santiago Fouz Hernández (Durham University), a Bigas Luna specialist and coordinator of the tribute with San Francisco-based art curator and artist Betty Bigas, will give a short presentation about the video art exhibition ‘Comedias Bárbaras’. This will be followed by the presentation of the posthumous documentary BigasxBigas (2016) with its co-director Santiago Garrido Rua, who will also take part in a Q&A session after the screening.

The exhibition preview (including drinks reception) will be on the 28th March at 6:30pm at the Instituto Cervantes Manchester.

The exhibition can be visited from 28th March until 12th April during our usual opening hours.
