About this event

CARM is the latest in a series of annual conferences run by NPL for the nuclear metrology community, bringing together expertise from areas including nuclear medicine, the nuclear industry, manufacturers, radioanalytical laboratories and academia.

There will be a commercial exhibition at CARM 2022. This is a table top exhibition (with a table and 2 chairs provided). There is space for up to a 2m display stand.

The registration is for up to two people. We will require the names and dietary requirements for both people.

Lunch and refreshments are included.

The conference dinners are an optional extra and are being held on Monday 20 February and Tuesday 21 February.

The conference will cover the role of nuclear metrology across several sectors - life sciences and health, energy and environment, and security and resilience. In all cases, sessions will include presentations on current advances in the application of metrology, followed by discussion of the challenges and needs of metrology in these sectors. The aim of these sessions is to solicit feedback from the user community, identifying measurement needs and how these can be supported by Measurement Institutes.

There is an opportunity to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations, as well as a commercial exhibition. CARM will also include several working group meetings including the Ionising Radiation Metrology Forum (IRMF). The meeting is a great opportunity to keep up-to-date on progress in the nuclear metrology sphere and to network with colleagues across a wide range of sectors.

We are changing the format of the conference this year now that we are moving back to face-to-face meetings. The days of the conference are themed by sector.

Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 February - Nuclear Medicine

Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 February - Nuclear Energy, Environment and Security

Thursday 23 February - IRMF (TBC) and some working group meetings

The registration fee is for all or part of the conference. Stands must be fully assembled by 09:00 on any of the days. You are welcome to exhibit for the duration of the conference.
