On Saturday 26th April we will be doing a ramble around Yorkshire Water site Langsett Reservoir.
Langsett Reservoir sits at the north eastern edge of the Peak District National Park, less than 5 miles south west of Penistone. With a capacity of over 1,400 million gallons, it is the biggest supply reservoir in the Sheffield district and also has one of the largest earth embankments in the UK.
Walking routes weave through majestic woodlands, offer stunning vistas across the water and boast breathtaking views from a higher vantage point on Midhope Moors. Bird watchers may spot interesting species including treecreepers, owls and woodpeckers. - Yorkshire Water.
We will arrive at 11am for an 11.30am start.
We have recced this route on Mountain Trikes so please get in touch first if you plan on using another piece of mobility equipment.
The weather can quickly change, so please wear and bring appropriate clothing. You should also bring a packed lunch and drinks! We plan to be out for around 3-4 hours. There is an accessible toilet on site.
We will stop to have a packed lunch so it is worth bringing food and drinks.
People who use other types of off-road mobility equipment are welcome to join the ramble, however, the route has only been checked using a Mountain Trike and access cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us to discuss this prior to booking.
