Our next ramble will be at Yorkshire Water's Scammonden Reservoir.
During construction of Scammonden Reservoir, the village of Deanhead was submerged and many buildings were demolished to make way for the essential Scammonden Reservoir. Scammonden now holds a massive 7.8 billion litres of water, that’s enough to last one person 78 million days.
We will meet at 11am for an 11.30am start in the car park. There are several accessible parking spaces but NO visitor centre or toilets on site.
The site is located 10 minutes from Experience Community's Office in Slaithwaite so we will have an accessible toilet in the office for people to use Please call 07930819943 to arrange to meet Rik to use our facilities.
This will be a socially paced ramble with opportunities to stop for a break or take photographs. We will stop to have a packed lunch so it is worth bringing food and drinks.
please wear clothing appropriate for the weather.
The route can be technical in places, with some steep slopes.
People who use other types of off-road mobility equipment are welcome to join the ramble, however, the route has only been checked using a Mountain Trike and access cannot be guaranteed. Please contact us to discuss this prior to booking.
