This event provides a valuable opportunity to delve into the escalating risks and experiences of violence and aggression within mental health settings across the UK. As the prevalence of these issues continues to rise, it becomes increasingly important to discuss how both staff and service users can be supported in creating safer environments.

The event will focus on exploring effective strategies and initiatives that encourage collaboration and communication between staff and service users, aiming to proactively reduce the risk of violence and aggression in these settings.

Furthermore, the event will address the often-overlooked issue of secondary trauma, which can affect both service users and staff who witness or are exposed to harm. It will explore practical approaches to providing support to prevent long-term trauma. By increasing awareness and fostering a deeper understanding of these issues.

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust would like you to join us for our first Trustwide event exploring aspects of Violence and Aggression within healthcare settings.

Staff working within Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust have experienced over 5000 staff assaults within the last two years. This event will look at strategies and discussion from leading experts within this field, creating a forum to explore ways to support individuals who have experienced or witnessed violence and aggression.

Our event will be held on 19 May 2025 at the Indian Community Centre Association in The Atrium, Nottingham.
