Vessel by Heatherwick Studio is a huge experiential structure which opened this year in the heart of New York City, as the centrepiece of the city’s newest district Hudson Yards. Consisting of more than 154 interconnecting staircases, the dramatic geometric form rises 16 levels to a height of 150 feet, inviting the public to explore it through its playful materiality – reflecting light and the figures below.

Blueprint editor Johnny Tucker will introduce Heatherwick Studio partner and group leader Stuart Wood, who will explain how this amazing project was realised and the technical complexity behind this seemingly simple structure. Following his presentation, you will be able to put on VR headsets to immerse yourself in Vessel.
