THIS IS A 5 WEEK EVENING COURSE
20th FEBRUARY - 20th MARCH 2017
Learn to use screen printing in a more experimental way using stencils, screen exposures and monoprinting methods. This course will encourage creativity using the screen printing technique. You will learn new processes, opening you to new outcomes and methods within screen printing. The course has a strong emphasis on mark-making, colour mixing and print application, allowing you to develop new skills and challenge old ones.
What experience do I need?
This is an intermediate course for those with previous experience of screen printing.You should be familiar with screen printing techniques and eager to learn new methods and processes.
What will I make?
You will make a series of screen prints using varying techniques. There will be opportunity to explore the techniques that you enjoy the most.
Who is my tutor?
Mary Gibbons is a screen printer who studied at ArtEZ Academy of Arts in the Netherlands and later worked in London as a Graphic Designer. Now she works in a local gallery and sells her work online and in galleries. She is inspired by nature, mark making, pattern and texture.
Do I need to bring anything?
Basic materials such as inks, paper and use of screens are provided. The workshop also sells a range of different papers should you wish to try something different. Prices range from £1 to £2.20 per sheet. Please bring an open mind!
If I can't attend can I get a refund?
We will refund you in full if you cancel no later than 7 days before the workshop. For cancellations after this period there will be no refunds issued.
