What might happen if you press pause on your busy life and take a moment to truly taste the food in front of you? This is what you'll discover at a Food At Heart event.
Experimental Soup & Salad Club helps you pause and truly taste, using all your senses. Blending the calm of yoga with the craft of a cooking class, it's a social experience mixing fun, focus and flavour.
You'll take part in reflective tasting and have the chance to experiment with flavours and textures. To start the year, we'll focus on uplifting flavours and fresh scents to raise your spirits in the middle of winter. This includes a nourishing New Year soup which we'll design together and enjoy as a starter dish.
You'll also join forces with fellow participants to 'invent' delicious meat-free dishes using seasonal ingredients. It's a little like MasterChef's Invention Test - but less judgy. You'll each be given a set of key ingredients with lots of seasonings and flavourings to add. You can let your food and flavour imagination run wild! We'll create calming salads that are the perfect antidote to chilly winds.
Experimental Soup & Salad Club finishes with a shared meal of the flavour-filled dishes you've created.
The final New Year menu will be designed by you and includes:
- Reviving Root Soup - delicious soup makes any New Year healthy eating resolutions easy; we'll design a soup using delicious in-season roots and reviving flavours
- Warming Winter Salad - salad isn't just for summer; with seasonal vegetables and British grown quinoa, you'll invent a salad that's substantial and soothing
- Lifting Winter Leaf Salad - even in the middle of winter there are some delicious leaves for spirit-lifting salad combinations (enhanced with other seasonal vegetables, cheeses or pulses)
Come prepared to crunch, slurp and savour.
The ticket price includes all the ingredients used in the food / cooking session (ingredients are organic / sustainable, seasonal and local where possible).
Tickets are non-refundable, but you may give/sell your ticket to another person.
