Claire Ireland is a ceramic artist known for her hand-built sculptural forms, often inspired by her studio's location in the grounds of a historical steam museum. Claire is the author of "Surface Decoration for Ceramics" Her work explores both minimal and decorative approaches, incorporating materials like porcelain paperclay and various surface treatments. This one day workshop focuses on her elaborate surface decoration techniques.
Claire will explore a selection of techniques - such dust printing, slip transfer, this will include embossed shapes using Tyvek stencils- mono printing on plaster with liquid paperclay - using stencils, sponge stamps.
Techniques covered will also include;
Kohiki slip (distressed and stretched clay)
Hot Glue Pen doodles to emboss the clay and can be use for the Mishima technique.

Claire will also have fired samples/tests of the different techniques and supply a hand-out relating to the chosen techniques to all particpants.
