Experimenting with Oil Pastels
Oil pastels are a very versatile medium. This workshop will be learning different techniques with them. There will be opportunities to try simple transfer printing, blending and sgraffito with oil pastels. We shall be using landscapes, seascapes and natural forms for our subject matter.
Thick cartridge paper/ mixed media paper A4-A2,
Low odour white spirit.
I shall bring a selection of good quality oil pastels, if you have any then that would be great to add to the collection! Plus reference material.
Calder Art will provide the following materials for the workshop:
1 x Table Top Easel
1 x 13 x 17 12mm Warp resistant MDF Board
1 x Paint Pot
1 x Palette or Plate
Limited sundry products are also available.
Refreshments are available all day (tea, coffee, biscuits) and there will be a lunch break of approximately one hour. You can bring your own lunch and food is available to purchase on the day through the Blue Rooms Cafe. They serve both hot and cold meals and offer a 20% discount to everyone attending the event. Orders will be taken at the start of the day.
Please note the Blue Rooms is closed for classes run on Sunday's although there are plenty of alternatives in the town centre.
Minimum numbers apply for courses to run. Payment is due in full at the time of booking., either through the shop or online.Full refunds will be given if the courses cannot take place. If you cannot make the classes for any reason full refunds will be given up to 48 hours before.

Own materials will be required and a list of materials needed will be given on booking a workshop. Some classes will include materials provided which will be indicated.
The nearest car park available to the venue is the multistorey next to Huddersfield bus station. All details are found on the link below. The cost of the car park is £2.00 for 3 hours (all levels) or £4.00 for 10 hours (upper two levels only
Our venue is also a 2 minute walk from both the main bus and train stations
