Explorathon: Soundwalk
Join Sound Thought for a guided soundwalk around the West End of Glasgow, listening to the sounds around us.
About this event
Join the Sound Thought team on an in-person, curated soundwalk of locations around the West End of Glasgow. We will explore notions of acoustic ecology and the impact of humans and noise pollution on our local environments as part of Explorathon 2021.
Four composers and sound artists have prepared soundscape compositions for a specific location in Glasgow’s West End. The team will guide you on a route through the West End, listening to each work in situ together, and engaging in listening, reflection, and discussion.
Please bring your mobile phone and a pair of good headphones to listen to the pieces. You can choose to stream them from our website, or download them in advance:

Each soundwalk will last between 60 and 90 minutes. The meeting point will be the main gate at the University of Glasgow.
Presented as part of The Dear Green Bothy, marking Glasgow’s hosting of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, in November 2021.
