Let’s get creative at home. Book a free place at the RIBA’s monthly art workshop ‘Explore and Make Online’ for those aged 50 or above.
About this event
In ‘Explore and Make Online’ you will explore buildings and architecture to inspire your artwork in a relaxed interactive session led by an artist. No experience is required, suitable for all abilities.
For May’s workshop we'll be making the most out of pencils to draw the environment around us and to try experimental drawing techniques. We aim to use only basic stationery or household items. Please bring materials from the list below. If you have any questions or problems sourcing items (we can suggest alternatives), contact us at learning@riba.org
You will need:
- Paper
- Pencils (variety of shades)
- Eraser
- Ruler
- Masking tape and scissors
- Empty toilet roll
Optional items:
- Items with textures for rubbings, e.g. sandpaper or sieve
- cotton bud
This session will last 45 minutes and is a space for older people to create art together and share their work and ideas. Inspiration for this interactive workshop will come from themed images from the RIBA’s world-class architectural collections of books, drawings, photographs and archives.
