About this Event

EXPLORE DIFFERENT MEDIA IN LANDSCAPE PAINTING

With Kirstie Cohen

On each day of the course I will introduce a different media e.g. Oil, Acrylic, Mixed Media and explore their qualities and possibilities that each present. Starting with a demonstration with landscape content, I will explain the components that are needed to create a successful art work and different ways of making effective and dramatic statements.

The subject matter can come from direct primary sources e.g. working from life, photographs, drawings, sketch book material or collective memory and imagination.

It is during the process of working that I will guide the student through, helping them with which ever medium is chosen, identifying any issues that arise and resolving the problems together. Moving gradually from small scale experimental pieces to a larger scale more evolved and completed painting.

All necessary materials will be provided and light lunches and refreshments will be available. Please notify us at time of booking if you have any dietary requirements.

Note the 10% Early-Bird discount for payments made before the end of February!

Kirstie Cohen was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1963.

As soon as her studies were completed she started to develop landscape in her work, turning professional with her first solo Exhibition in London in 1990. She has subsequently had many solo and mixed shows nationwide. She now lives and works in the Highlands of Scotland near Inverness.
