Join us on an insiders tour of Southall, a Punjabi area and home to the largest Sikh community in the UK.
Join a SharedCity guide to explore this lively and diverse neighbourhood - including a tour at one of the largest Sikh temples outside India.
You will see the whole temple including the prayer halls and langar room where vegetarian food is traditionally prepared daily by volunteers from the community to be served to the many visitors to the temple regardless of religion.
There will be an opportunity to meet the community, learn about some Sikh traditions from turban wrapping, the meaning behind the swords/daggers and more.
With our guide you will also explore parts of Southall, learn about traditional ingredients and taste sweets and snacks in the local cafes/restaurants & try out the 'Saag and maki ki roti', tandoori dishes which originate from the Punjab region and we will take you to shops where you could buy your own tandoor oven to take home.
Limited to 15 participants. Book early.
