Event description

Description

Continuing the popular series of Stalking Trees walkshops, we are delighted to welcome Paul Wood, author of London Street Trees (Guardian Nature Books of 2017) to entice you to Explore the Urban Forest.

Urban Forest Exploration on Sunday 25 February 10.30am – 12.30pm: Urban Forest: Pimlico

From the Plane tree lined Millbank Estate behind Tate Britain to the stuccoed elegance of Pimlico's Regency terraces, this small enclave of Westminster plays host to a fascinating variety of street trees, including some of London's finest Gingkos, and even a street of Australian Bottlebrush trees. But the highlight of this walk is perhaps another Australian, the fabulous golden-blossomed Mimosa which we hope will be in full bloom for us on this walk reminding us that spring is not too far off!

So join Paul Wood at Pimlico tube station to meander through the neighbourhood finishing at Tate Britain.

We will be handing out a field notebook including a species list, and pencils, for you to keep your own learning journal and Paul will be signing copies of his book that will be available to purchase.

Our route begins at Pimlico tube station, SW1V 2JA and ends at Tate Britain, SW1P 4RG.

We are offering £2 cash back (on the day) as an early bird ticket if booked before 31 January 2018.
