Description

Relationship with Food

Food is much more than just something we nourish our physical bodies with, it is something with which we try and feed all kinds of other hungers. It is also deeply connected with our sense of belonging and identity at both the cultural and family level.

Because our relationship with food is lifelong - from mothers milk through to our last meal - moving into better relationship with it is both complex and important. Our ideas and judgements about food and our projections onto it may limit our capacity for change. In this workshop you will learn which of the patterns of relationship you are in with food and how to begin to change your relationship with food and eating.

This small group constellation workshop offers a safe and embodied way to illuminate your relationship with food in a way that is designed to clarify and resource.

Fees
Please note: All 2020 workshops are £155 per person. The total ticket price is made up of that fee plus VAT [£31] and the nominal EventBrite ticket administration fee. You will get a VAT receipt.

Life in flow

The workshop is open to those who are interested in finding a different relationship with food as well as an interest in the methodology of embodied access to insight and fresh information through constellations.

"I found the exercise about our relationship to scarcity and abundance incredibly insightful.” John S. Leadership and business transformation coach.

Some of the themes and issues that have emerged within previous workshops on this subject include

  • The meaning of food
  • Food, belonging and identity
  • Food intolerances and allergies from a systemic perspective
  • Representing someone who was excluded through weight
  • Staying close/loyal to someone who is missed
  • Refusing food in order to save our parents relationship
  • Weight as protection
  • Food and religious doctrine
  • Food as a resource and enabler
  • The natural flow of life and eating

This workshop will be led by author of ‘Systemic Coaching and Constellations’, John Whittington and will be facilitated through whole group constellations, exercises in small groups, informal teaching and pairs/triads discussion. Whether you are new to constellations or already familiar with the approach, the workshop will provide a rich experience of the methodology as well as several different opportunities to explore the personal and professional questions that emerge.

"John's insight and quiet wisdom are inspiring" Lindsay W
