This one-day intensive workshop is specifically designed for people who want to test out the strength of their creative business idea to establish whether it can be turned into a reality.
The day will focus on tackling the key issues and considerations that face start-up creative businesses, including:
• How to present your business idea?
• Is there a genuine need for your business?
•The importance of market research
• Is your idea distinctive?
• How to value creativity?
• Who are your potential customers?
• Where to look for funding and investment
• Making an action plan and getting started
The course will be run by Alison Grade (biography here) who has extensive experience in supporting small creative businesses. Alison will draw on a wide range of case studies from her own experience including Girls Angels, Hotbed Media, Magnus & Bella and Made of Memories.
The workshop will be delivered in a fun and lively way, encompassing a range of games and exercises of various styles. Interaction with other participants will be a key theme of the day, teaching you how to learn from and support each other both now and in the future. By the end of the session you should have an understanding of the work involved in starting up your own business, as well as a personalised action plan to help get you started.
The cost of this course is fully subsidised by European funding and as such there is no course fee payable for participants.
