Free Stop-Motion Animation Workshops for Kids

Join Animating Devon for a series of free, fun & hands-on introductory stop-motion workshops at Exeter Library. Perfect for kids aged 7 - 13

There will be a different theme for each session & a chance to develop your skills, so you're welcome to book for 1 or more of the sessions. Spaces are limited, and this is a free workshop - so please don't book a place unless you can definitely come!

🗓 Saturdays: 28 Feb, 14 March & 28 March
⏰ 10.30am – 12.30pm

Across these 2-hour workshops, young creatives will:

✨ Animate with Lego and toys
✨ Learn storyboarding and sequencing
✨ Work in pairs to create short animations
✨ Build skills in teamwork, problem-solving & communication

Object animation is perfect way for kids to get into storytelling and animation-making. Each session will feature a different theme, keeping things fresh and exciting.

The workshops will take palce on the 2nd floor of Exeter Library in the Rougemont Room, accesible via lift or stairs. Toilets are located on the 3rd floor.

Please note that adults are welcome to stay and join in, but drop off is also welcome. Participants will be working in pairs at their work stations. So please make sure that your child is happy to be paired with someone - or, of course, you can book in with a friend or sibling.

These workshops are part of Exploring Animation, Animating Devon’s outreach programme, funded by an Exeter City Grant, designed to make animation accessible to all and inspire the next generation of creative talent.
