Join RIBA London for two informal nights of inspirational, short talks delivered by our London members. Discover the many ways London’s architectural practices are breaking down boundaries with their revolutionary projects, digital innovation, progressive working methods and pioneering ways of envisaging London’s built environment.

Small Talk 1: Aleksandrina Rizova, ALEKSA studio - Pushing the boundaries with cutting edge technologies. How can architectural practices incorporate cutting edge technologies and digital fabrication methods on their projects? Can these technologies be used to a bigger scale to maximise efficiency?

Small Talk 2: Ruth Baker, Ryder - Reinvention project - how to disrupt entrenched industry behaviours with the construction sector. Ryder Architecture is on a mission to break the downward spiral of poor performance and failure which dogs the construction industry. Their Reinvention project proposes drastic change across the construction sector to disrupt entrenched industry behaviours and calls for, “a fusion of creative minds and multiple skills to solve problems

Small Talk 3: Lindsay Faller, Red Deer - Knowing your boundaries: How to establish healthy client relationships. Lindsay Faller, Comerical Director of Red Deer, discusses how the practice defines the boundaries of its scope of work, leading to better client relationships and successful projects.

Small Talk 4: Herman Calleja, Chapmanbdsp - Environmental Design. Chapmanbdsp has been leading the way in Parametric modelling resulting in an award winning, a naturally ventilated tower in Nairobi . Find out how every project can be evaluated for solar radiation, daylighting potential, and natural ventilation potential early in the design stage.

Small Talk 5: Daniel Leon, Square Feet Architecture – FridaySaturdaySundayFridaySaturdaySunday is a project devised by three Architects who are creating a single building to break down boundaries between faiths. Daniel Leon, Matthew Lloyd, Shahed Saleem have joined forces to work on a project that operates as a mosque on Friday, a synagogue on a Saturday and a church on a Sunday.

The talk will be followed by a networking reception, where refreshments will be provided.
