Have you ever thought about starting a business with a social dimension or community purpose? Do you understand the difference between sole trader, limited company, social enterprise or CIC? Would you like to hear about how to start one from someone who has?
Norwich is proud to be a Social Enterprise Place recognised by Social Enterprise UK. Our city is full of social enterprises of all sizes achieving great things! There are also many private businesses which have a community or social dimension alongside charities and community groups doing great work.
At this event, we will help you explore which is the best route for you and your idea. Join us at the Millennium library for this free event to hear from some local social entrepreneurs and community-minded businesses in a friendly, informal setting to hear what it's like to start your own social enterprise or work in a company that works with the community.
You can also talk to staff from FUSE Network, BIPC Norfolk, New Anglia Growth Hub and MENTA about the help available to turn your ideas into action!
Plus we'll be joined by CAN (Community Action Norfolk) who are the leading organisation for engagement with the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector in Norfolk.
They work closely with VCSE organisations, Norfolk County Council and other partners to build the positive relationships needed to collaboratively develop strategy, policy and services.
The event is free but must be booked via Eventbrite. Refreshments will be served and there will be a chance to network
