Event description

Description

"[Literacy} will teach pupils to speak and write fluently so that they can communicate their ideas and emotions to others." National curriculum in England: English programmes of study.

Key Learning Messages:

  • Ensuring pupils are confident within a museum or gallery to unlock the literacy potentials
  • Planning and developing a literacy curriculum around your visit
  • Recognising the potential of the whole venue
  • Activity development to suit your pupils speaking & listening, reading and writing needs

The activities throughout this session will help to build a greater understanding of the roles museum and galleries play in providing a basis for writing. There will be opportunities to take part in activities which can be adapted to suit the pupils or groups that you work with.

With all of our sessions there are opportunities to plan, share and discuss how this training will fit back into your curriculum.
