Exploring Magical Tourism: Festivals, Heritage, Storytelling, Placemaking.

On Halloween Eve join us where tourism meets magic. The aim of this Webinar is to explore why and how tourism has taken a magical turn with future green potential. Let's ask why the term "magic" is is over-used when describing visitor experiences and if enchanting experiences are simply sleight of hand on the part of the tourism industry. Our speakers will draw you into a re-enchanted world, which is not only atmospheric, but paradoxically, one of the fastest growing niches in contemporary culture. Discover how festivals have increasingly become fantasyscapes for self-expression. Explore how, due to global multi-media TV series such as The Witcher and Rings of Power, historic sites - including castles, ancient city walls and ruins - are now mingled with fairytales as "magi-heritage" in the popular imagination. Our speakers will trace the ways that storytelling through myths, legends and folklore shapes greener placemaking. Magical tourism also acts as a conduit for regenerative practices and also mindful, healing experiences, reinforcing our connections to nature. This Webinar gives you the opportunity to re-evaluate what may seem, at first glance, to be a deceptively lightweight, playful topic, as a force for change and resistance. Let's weave the magic together and explore the world from diverse perspectives.
