About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Inspired by Michelle Olivier's works in the South Asia Gallery that shed light on often over-looked Anglo-Indian identity, this 3-week project will use collage and discussion based activities to bring people of mixed heritage/race together to explore identity, representation, community and belonging.

Each session will be based around a theme (listed below). The session structure will include introductions and ice-breakers, a space agreement, discussion and collage based activities and a 30 min break in the middle.

Themes for the series include:

  1. Representation
  2. Language
  3. Culture and Connection

To close the project together, we have added a 4th session on Wednesday 30th July. This will be an opportunity for group participants to gather together a final time in the museum, to reclect on experiences shared and work created during the series.

Sessions will be led by Michelle Olivier and Chloe Cousins, Social Justice Manager at Manchester Museum.
