Event description

Description

Scientists, great thinkers, writers, artists, and others over the centuries have all left their thoughts, wishes, sketches, and inspirations in journals for us to ponder. Known as a ‘commonplace book’, this style of journal is a way to capture the thoughts and words of those who can inspire us to new ideas and a place to record or explore your own thoughts and ideas. More than a scrapbook or a diary, this kind of journal is a place of collection, curation and experimentation. And of course it can be a highly visual art-based project with images, painted backgrounds, textures and keep-sakes as well as words.

In this one day workshop Tina will show you how to play with different ways to create art-ful and art-based journals including painted backgrounds, textures, stamps, collage, quotes, tear-sheets and more.

No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided, although you are welcome to bring along anything you might like to include in your notebook.

£75 pp including light lunch and refreshments. Eight places only.
