About this event
Join us for a parent-focused webinar showcasing the latest accessible technology supporting children and young people with vision impairments. Delivered by Guide Dogs, the session will share the story of ‘George’, a young person using technology to navigate independence, education, mobility, and fun.
We’ll explore new innovations, from apps and smartphones to smart mobility devices, and update you on the current support available from Guide Dogs.
We’d love to hear from you! If there are specific apps, devices or challenges you’d like to hear more about during the session, let us know when you sign up. You can email us at digitalskills@familyfund.org.uk with any suggestions or questions.
Frequently asked questions
We are a UK-based charity, and all our workshops are intended for families who are living in the UK and are raising a disabled or seriously ill child or young person.
The workshops will take place on Zoom. When you book your place, you’ll receive a confirmation email with information on how to access the Zoom link. You'll need your Eventbrite login and password, so keep it handy.
An internet connection, and a device to join the Zoom session. This can be a smartphone, Android tablet, iPad, laptop or PC.
We cater for all families with a range of needs. If you have any questions about the accessibility of the sessions or would like to make us aware of adjustments you might need, please email us at digitalskills@familyfund.org.uk
It is important that if you can no longer join a workshop, you let us know at digitalskills@familyfund.org.uk. Or you can cancel your booking in your Eventbrite account. Sessions are free, but places are limited, so please tell us if you can no longer attend.
If you have video on, please make sure you don’t have any sensitive documents or personal photographs visible. And don’t disclose any personal information such as bank details.
That's absolutely fine! You're welcome to have your camera turned on or off during the workshop. We want you to feel comfortable, so you can interact with the trainer and the session to a level that feels right for you.
