Description

Exploring Trusts and Foundations

Delivered By: Helen Linnell – Development Officer, Voluntary Action South West Surrey

Workshop length: 4 hours = 2 sessions x 2 hours each (1 hour for lunch) 10am – 3pm

Description:

It is becoming increasingly difficult for organisations to secure funds through their regular funding sources. Many are now looking elsewhere in order to diversify their funding streams and maximise potential for success. This 4 hour workshop will give you a firm grounding into applying and securing funds for your organisation from Grant Making Trusts and Foundations. The workshop will focus on demystifying the often complex process of applying for funding through this stream. By the end of the day, you will:

  1. Have an understanding of what Grant Making Trusts and Foundations are
  2. Explored similarities, differences and diversity of Trusts and Foundations
  3. Explored how to research suitable Trusts
  4. Have an awareness of the importance of guidelines
  5. Have identified how to match projects to funders’ priorities and criteria
  6. Understand how to develop and maintain good relationships with a Trust funder
  7. Have discussed an exit strategy for when the funding comes to an end.

There will be a break for lunch from 12pm - 1pm. Lunch isn’t provided but the venue is in the middle of the town centre with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. Alternatively please feel free to bring lunch with you.
