Overview
Are you thinking about working in the UK?
Want to understand what it’s like to have a job here?
Welcome Hackney invites you to a series of free workshops at Dalston CLR James Library. You can come to one session or join all four. These workshops are for refugees, asylum seekers, and new residents who want to know more about employment in the UK, and will be led by Hackney Works and TERN.
What you will learn:
- 13/11 Finding Job Opportunities: How to look for jobs, read adverts, and complete applications.
- 20/11 Interview Skills: How interviews work, what to expect, and how to feel confident.
- 27/11 Working in the UK: Your rights at work, UK workplace culture, and what to expect as an employee.
- 4/12 Self Employment in the UK: How to start your own business in the UK.
These workshops are open to all, including people currently in the asylum system. For those with the right to work in the UK, the Hackney Works team will provide dedicated employment support following on from workshops.
