About this Event

About

Do you love to travel and want to learn how to turn your holiday highlights into publishable pieces or inspiring blogs? Are you already a travel-writing enthusiast and want to know how to develop your craft?

Join award-winning author, Shreya Sen-Handley on this two-part travel-writing course in September. She’ll be showing you how you can turn the highlights of your travels into fine writing and entertaining, informative reads that will inspire editors to publish you and readers to follow in your footsteps!

Throughout these sessions, you’ll traverse topics essential to writing good travel pieces including structure, style, substance and voice. You will plan and write your own pieces; finding your unique voice and exploring how you can make your writing shine to both editors and readers.

Shreya will help you level up your travel writing piece over the course of two sessions so that when one journey ends, a new journey of finding editors, publishers and readers to enjoy your writing begins!

About Shreya

Shreya brings a wealth of expertise to the table. She is an author, journalist, illustrator and librettist, working with the Welsh National Opera on a production that will tour the UK in 2020, a clutch of books with top publisher HarperCollins, including the soon-to-be-released collection of short stories, ‘Strange’, and the award-winning “Memoirs of My Body” published in 2017. Her regular travel pieces culminated in a book deal with HarperCollins for a travelogue with a difference due for release in 2020. She has also illustrated for HarperCollins, Hachette, and a new British children’s anthology out soon, and teaches creative writing at a range of organisations including the Universities of Nottingham and Cambridge.
