James is based in Birmingham, where he originally from, having just returned from 11 years in China. He was long term fixture in the sustainable business scene in Shanghai since 2005, when, at age 24, he founded Gusto Fine Foods - a venture to supply fresh organic ingredients to the 5 star hotels and high end western restaurants in Shanghai. Going further into sustainability, James worked in the Carbon Consulting industry, on Sustainable Urban Regeneration projects, and in Environmental Due Diligence for major institutional investors. Most recently, at PureLiving China, he was the General Manager for the Shanghai region and specialised in helping clients to understand and manage their indoor environment.
James holds a Masters Degree in Chemistry from the University Of Leeds, UK and a post-graduate studies qualification in Environmental Science and Management at University of London’s SOAS. He brings together knowledge and practice of science, environment and China business.
