A digital camera is required, ideally with a 50mm or 35mm lens for better subject interaction. While you could use a phone with a good lens or a point-and-shoot, we strongly recommend bringing a digital camera. Is food and drink included in the workshop fee?

No, food and drink are not included. We’ll start in a cosy spot where you can purchase tea, coffee, or a snack. You'll have time for lunch at a nearby café or bring your own. We’ll finish in a pub where you can choose to enjoy a well-earned drink.

How many people will be in the workshop?

To keep the experience personal and supportive, the workshop is limited to 8 participants. This allows for individual guidance, meaningful interactions, and a comfortable learning environment.

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

The workshop runs rain or shine—we’ll embrace the conditions and keep photographing. Only in gale-force winds or extreme weather will we switch to indoor locations or find alternatives. Please bring appropriate clothing and waterproofing for yourself and your gear.

What if I feel too nervous to approach people?

That’s exactly why this workshop exists! You’ll be gently guided through the process, starting with observation and small steps. There’s no pressure to dive in before you're ready, and you'll receive support every step of the way.

Will I need a model release for portraits?

Accepted Answer

We’ll cover ethical considerations and best practices for street portraiture, including when a model release may be needed. In most cases, for non-commercial work, it isn’t required—but we’ll discuss respectful ways to engage with your subjects.

What happens after the workshop?

Accepted Answer

You’ll gain access to an exclusive alumni WhatsApp group where you can share work, ask questions, and stay connected with other participants. It’s a great way to continue learning and building confidence.

Are refunds available?

Accepted Answer

No, refunds are not available, but with at least 7 days' notice, you can receive credit toward another workshop of the same price (if available) or equivalent one-to-one tuition, valid for one year. If I have to cancel the workshop, you will receive a full refund.

Are there age restrictions?

Accepted Answer

Yes and no. Participants must be 18 or older if attending alone. One participant under 18 may attend per workshop if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, with a £100 supplementary fee. Contact me to check availability and arrange this.
