This workshop is about exploring the freedom of expressive art through painting and mixed-media. Instead of focusing on structured techniques or realistic outcomes, this session encourages you to let go of expectations, trust your intuition, and create from within.
We will explore colour, layering, and mark-making to express emotions and ideas, and demonstrate how expressive painting can be both freeing and fulfilling.
What You’ll Do:
- Start with simple warm-up exercises to loosen up, get into the flow, and find inspiration
- Experiment with gestural marks and a variety of painting tools
- Use a range of media to explore different textures, layers, and expressive techniques
- Learn how to use colour emotionally to reflect mood and energy
- Let your intuition guide your composition, movement, and creative choice
You will be guided by Ellie who will demonstrate techniques and share how to use different tools and materials for expressive mark-making.
By the end of the session, you will have a newfound freedom to trust your instincts in creating mixed media works and leave with your very own unique abstract expressive piece.
All materials will be provided and refreshments will be available
Come ready to explore, play, and create in a relaxed and welcoming environment!
