Event description

Description

How did Extinction Rebellion start, what is their mission and what is motivating them to act through radical non-violent protest? This session will cover and answer some of these areas, and present much of the most recent data on the climate crisis, much of which you won’t easily find in the mainstream media.

The talk will be followed by a printing and creative workshop, bring along clothes (2nd hand) that you would like to emblazon with Extinction Rebellion motifs and creative designs developed by the rebellion. There will also be an opportunity to meet and speak to some of those working to raise awareness and demand real action on the climate crisis.

The BSMT Urban Art gallery will host the talks as part of its two-part exhibition: DYSTOPIA and UTOPIA, in the light of the climate crisis. The gallery and its art will be a platform to interrogate our warming world; the exhibitions will explore the possible futures we may encounter, embodying the zeitgeist we are all experiencing now. We will donate a percentage of all art sales to Extinction Rebellion in support of the brave work they are doing. More on the exhibition can be found here.
