Women, we need you! Join Sam in this fun and freeing workshop that explores movement, speaking (swearing welcome) and writing.
About this event
You are invited to move, wiggle and dance your hearts out to great music and release all the tension from the last two years. Together as a group of women, we’ll explore sounds and words (swearing very welcome), and will talk about female focussed, taboo topics that matter to us. To close, we’ll spend a little time writing what we’ve seen, heard, felt, and what we think needs to be said.
This is a workshop to get active, release emotions and feel connected with yourself and other girls and women.
Who is this for?
Girls and women aged 14 - 84+, people who identify as female, sisters, mothers, daughters, grandmas & girlfriends. No dance or arts experience needed.
More information about Sam:
Hello! I'm Sam Gilroy, I'm an independent female Artist, Choreographer and Facilitator based in Southampton which has a rich, culturally diverse population of women and people who identify as female. Inspired to connect and create, I am reaching out to ask you to join me in the process I have developed working with non-dancers and professional artists on my feminist project titled: F WORDZ. We will explore ways to express our thoughts and experiences as girls and women to grow a community where we can talk freely, challenge our perceptions and find a place of acceptance and belonging.
This workshop and previous Wednesday Women conversations are supported by A Space Arts at God's House Tower.
