Event description
FAA LEVEL 3 AWARD IN SUPERVISING FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH (RQF) AWARD IN LEADING FIRST AID FOR MENTAL HEALTH AT SCQF LEVEL 6

About this Event

This qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a wide range of mental health conditions and learn about the support/therapy provided by professional healthcare providers. They will know how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Learners will recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse. This is a qualification that can be used to certify you as a mental health first aider.

Learners will learn about the first aid action plan for mental health, be able to put it in place and understand how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace.

Learners will not diagnose or treat mental health conditions as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals but will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a condition and know where they can go to get help

NW Autism & SEND is pleased to offer an accredited (FAA) remote learning Level First Aid for Mental Health for those working in the public sector: including schools and services that involve children. Our exclusive training course is conducted by, and in association with Emma Griffiths, the specialist autism and mental health trainer and teacher.

This bespoke course has been specifically adapted to retain the complete syllabus of mental health first aid training but with the added advantage of being specific for the public service sector and those that work with adults and children, and includes discussion, case studies and relevant data.

An electronic handbook and one-to-one knowledge-check session are also included. This is an assessed course and an electronic certificate will also be included within the price.
