Event description


In this course you will be introduced to Arduino coding and wiring. The course will begin with learning Basic Arduino coding through simple exercises which will teach you the core methods of any Arduino project. You will use open source projects to create fun and interesting outputs by using both Arduino Uno and Makey Makey boards.

Course Content

Week 1

Fablab Induction, Ground Rules. Introduction to Arduino software

Week 2

Continuation of Arduino Software with Introduction to hardware.

Week 3

Hack Makey Makey boards to create more diverse outcomes.

Week 4

Continue Makey Makey projects.

Week 5

Recap session with set tasks.

Week 6

Create project in small group in a mini hack fest style environment.

Week 7

Hack fest continuation.

Week 8

Introduction to CAD for create casing ideas, start to refine projects.

Week 9

Continue to refine projects.

Week 10

Final recap with discussion.

Materials and Equipment

All tools and materials are provided. No prior experience is required but may be beneficial. For workshop based sessions please wear work clothing and closed toed shoes.

Please note that all courses are subject to student numbers and will only run if sufficient numbers are achieved. Plymouth College of Art reserves the right to cancel a course if insufficient student numbers are recruited.
