Event description
Does Labour have a progressive plan for the NHS? Join the Fabian Society and Unions21 for this fringe event at Labour Party conference 2019.

About this Event

The future of the NHS is uncertain. Local authorities have faced reduced funding for adult social care, placing increased pressure on the NHS, communities and families. With an ageing population, skills shortages and the impending impact of Brexit, the challenges facing health care will only increase.

Undoubtedly, the next Labour government will inherit an NHS damaged by years of Conservative austerity and the impact of Brexit, so Labour must set out its policy priorities for reviving the national health service.

This session asks whether the policies that the party has announced so far will be enough to save health services in a time of unprecedented pressure and what can Labour do to genuinely re-found healthcare to guarantee the NHS is secure for future generations?

Confirmed speakers include:

Jon Skewes (Royal College of Midwives)

Becky Wright (Unions21)

Rob Yeldham (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy)

This event is free to attend.
